Benjamin Netanyahu just made this statement today:
I don’t want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution, but for that, circumstances have to change.
Netanyahu said this just days after he rejected the idea of a two-state solution, saying:
I think that anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state today and evacuate lands is giving attack grounds to the radical Islam against the state of Israel… There is a real threat here that a left-wing government will join the international community and follow its orders.
Benjamin Netanyahu is better than a left-wing leader. Nonetheless it is quite sad and disgusting to see him backtracking and flip-flopping. He looks like a politicians who says things just to get votes. Lets not forget that God told us that Jerusalem will be conquered, that is, by the Muslims:
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Zechariah 14:2)
The Muslims who already live the West Bank and Gaza will be involved in this conquest of Jerusalem, which indicates that the state of Israel in this time will have weak leadership. So, we should not expect or praise any leader of Israel to be greatly righteous any time soon. People were hailing Benjamin as though he was some biblical prophet. Why do we continuously put some sort of pious reliance on superficial politicians? “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:5)
I hope and pray that Benjamin will do good things, and we should commend him when he does, but that does not meant that we should exempt him from criticism.
